"Second Saturdays" at Girard College
Check out what’s behind the wall at Girard College during Founder’s Hall’s "Second Saturdays."
Founder’s Hall, the 100-foot tall Greek revival landmark that housed the school’s first classrooms, will be open from 12-3 on Saturday, October 14.
Founder's Hall staff will lead tours of the (second floor) museums every half hour. From Stephen Girard’s carriage to vintage school photographs, come find out more about one of Philadelphia’s richest and most influential citizens and the legacy of the unique school he founded.
Visitors may also enjoy the self-guided audio tours on the first floor.
"Second Saturdays" are walk-in days; no appointment necessary. The front gate of Girard College is located at 2101 South College Avenue, Philadelphia, near the intersection of Corinthian and Girard Avenues. The collections at Founder's Hall are: the Stephen Girard Collection and the Girard College Collection.
Please note that stairs are unavoidable at Founder's Hall.
